ADOPT
Historically, blood analysis has been primarily adopted for diagnostic purposes, utilized when individuals exhibit symptoms of illness. Physicians would order blood tests to identify specific health concerns or confirm suspected diagnoses. This reactive approach aimed to diagnose diseases after symptoms had already emerged.
ADAPT
With advancements in medical technology and understanding, there has been an adaptation in the use of blood analysis to include preventive and proactive measures. Rather than solely relying on blood tests for diagnosing illness, healthcare providers began utilizing them for routine screenings and health assessments even in asymptomatic individuals. This shift acknowledges the value of early detection and prevention by identifying risk factors or markers of disease before symptoms arise.
Advance
At Menon Health we aim to expand the scope of blood analysis to encompass a comprehensive understanding of health. This includes the utilization of multiple markers beyond traditional indicators and optimising levels even within the normal range. For example, in addition to assessing cholesterol levels, we may also evaluate inflammatory markers, hormone levels, and genetic predispositions to gain a more holistic view of an individual's health.
Furthermore, optimizing levels of various markers, even if they fall within the normal range, can help prevent future health issues and promote overall wellness. This proactive approach aims to address potential imbalances before they lead to disease or symptoms.
Methodology
Prior to booking the blood panel, a quick phone/email consultation is done to ensure that you know what to expect and to also assess if the blood tests, would give you the answers you want.
Bloods are drawn at our Marylebone clinic - due to the complex post processing.
Special exceptions can be made for home collections with prior discussion
For our comprehensive panel, you would need to be fasted for 10 hours minimum (water is allowed). We normally recommend to do this overnight.
